Coconut Loose Pieces

Bring natural texture to counting, sorting and creative activities with Coconut Loose Pieces. These coconut pieces have been sanded for handling and offer an open-ended resource for exploring arrangements and patterns.

Invite children to sort the pieces by their visible characteristics, count out a group or arrange them into a picture. They can also be used for transient art: create a design, talk about it and rearrange the pieces into something new.

Their flexible use makes them a useful addition to a loose-parts collection. Present them alongside suitable resources you already own to introduce contrasting textures and different creative possibilities.

Material: Coconut pieces with sanded surfaces.
Suggested activities: Counting, sorting, pattern making, mosaics and transient art.
