Posting Schema Topper

Introduce an investigation of what fits with the Posting Schema Topper. This resource provides a starting point for posting activities in which children compare objects and test their ideas.

Present suitable materials and invite children to predict whether each one will fit before trying it. Changing the size or orientation gives them another way to explore the problem and describe what they notice.

Use the topper within an appropriately supported activity setup and follow the supplied instructions. Select resources to suit the children taking part.

Suggested activities: Posting, size comparison and trial-and-error exploration.
Resource selection: Use suitable objects for the activity and users.
Use guidance: Adult supervision appropriate to the activity.
